CAD Modeling

Programs

Experience

Over the last few years, I have taken interest in 3D modeling. Since then I have had experience with a variety of programs. While I am still learning more about each of these programs, here are just a few models, drawings and assemblies that I have worked on in the past.

Models

These are some of the models I have worked on throughout my process of learning Catia, Solidworks and other modeling softwares.

Generative Design and Topology Optimization

In order to explore new ways of designing parts for additive manufacturing, I learned topology optimization and generative design both on my own and through my Additive Manufacturing class. Both allow for the reduction of material while maintaining a specified strength. After specifying which places are important to keep, the software will design parts that could not be created in any other way.

Drawings

Many of these section drawings  go with the models above. They display each of their dimensions as well as a section and an isometric drawing.

Animations

To get a better understand for how assemblies work, I created animations. These animations allow for a more realistic view rather than drawings or standard renderings.

Above is an animation for the hand scanner concept in R3T. The showcasing of both how it worked and the technology concepts to build it helped us work on other projects with other clients.

Above is an animation for the prosthetic had used in R3T. By showing each part necessary it is easy to see how it will be assembled as well as where parts can be improved.
